MPI Potomac's March Educational Experience: Candidates and Coronavirus Effects on the Meetings Industry

This event has been cancelled. If you have any questions, please contact the event planner directly.

Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our members and venue staff. This goes the same for our venue host, Convene. Therefore, Convene is closing all their locations for the remainder of March.  We agree with this action and are canceling the March e2.  All registrants will be refunded their registration fees paid.

Please know the MPI Potomac Chapter stands with you in support and we are here for you as we are all in this together.

Wishing you and your organizations the best during this difficult time.

UPDATE: It is MPI Potomac's mission to be a resource for meeting professionals. To this end we have revised the program slightly to bring you more in depth conversation about the political climate and COVID-19 affects on our industry.

As meeting professionals, it is imperative we are informed and strategic in our approach for our future.

Come hear from experts on hot topics on the political climate as we approach a presidential election and the Coronavirus outbreak impact our decisions and plans for the future.

Learner Objectives:

  • Understanding of the influencers in society that affect meeting planning
  • How to implement changes in the meeting process to accommodate change
  • Action plans to prepare for unexpected change

Our venue host, Convene, and your comfort is a top priority so we have added on an option to join us virtually. Thanks to our partners at Convene, we will be broadcasting the session via Zoom Webinars.  Please select the Webinar Access registration fee if that is how you choose to participate.

For those planning to attend in person, Convene is following all industry guidelines and taking some additional measures at each of these events, including:

  • Hand sanitizer available throughout venues
  • AV company will ensure microphones and other equipment are cleaned and sanitized between speakers
  • Attendees are encouraged to greet others as they are comfortable, understanding some may choose to replace the standard handshake
  • Reminders to staff to practice strict hygiene habits at all times
  • Attendees and staff alike are encouraged to “practice common sense prevention,” such as hand washing, and avoid attending if they are ill.

Help us add something special to care packages being sent to Deployed Troops, Veterans and First Responders. We will be creating Paracord Bracelets. Operation Gratitude includes Paracord Bracelets in our Care Packages because they’re both functional and meaningful. They are handmade by grateful Americans (like you!) who want to show their appreciation and they can be used to save a life in an emergency.

Visit www.Operationgratitude.com for more details.
