MPI Potomac's November Educational Event: Hot Technologies 2017: It’s Virtual & Wearable...But Are You Secure?


How are you keeping up with the technological advancements that impact your job and career?  Do you find that you’re barely able to keep pace with the latest developments within the hospitality industry?  This session reviews what’s new and way cool in technology within the meetings industry in this fun, fast-paced look at what’s here for us to use now and what’s coming in the near future, including the latest information about augmented reality and digital security. 

After participating in this session, the learner will be able to: 

  • Identify the most critical tech tools that are impacting meeting planning and supporting the hospitality industry
  • Understand how to keep yourself and your organization safer against cyberattacks
  • Recognize how new technologies such as virtual & augmented reality are having an impact on the hospitality industry
This session has been approved for 1.5 CIC Clock Hours in Domain G: Meeting or Event Design.

Getting There

Holiday Inn Capitol Lobby to the Capitol Ballroom (this same path is accessible with ramps)
Once you are in the lobby, locate the 21st Amendment Bar and Grill
Walk down the corridor so that the 21st Amendment Bar and Grill is on your right side
Turn left at the Capitol Bistro Restaurant walking down a long corridor with red pillars
At the end of the corridor you will walk down your first set of stairs
Continue walking towards (and down) the second set of stairs
Veer left at the FEMA Security Desk, reaching the Capitol Ballroom

The Holiday Inn Capitol is conveniently located 1 1/2 blocks from the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station (yellow/green/blue/orange/silver line). For more information and for a Metrorail map, visit WMATA.

Walking from L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station
On the upper platform, take the escalators towards Maryland Ave. and 7th Street exit

As soon as you reach the top of the escalators you will be looking at a building called Capital Gallery
Walk straight through that building
When you come out on the other side you will be facing the Holiday Inn Capitol (with a Starbucks on the corner)
