This course is designed to provide essential multicultural mental health information as it relates to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) population in the United States, including demographic characteristics and sociopolitical history for LGBTQ communities and their influence on mental health. Specific topics such as LGBTQ identity, intersection of multiple identities, and social class will be discussed. The course will also focus on contemporary issues and practice considerations with an emphasis on multiculturalism. Learn the demographic characteristics and influences for LGBTQ individuals and communities. Understand the sociopolitical and historical issues for LGBTQ communities. Increase awareness of culture and cultural values of LGBTQ individuals and communities. Dates: Mar 2-31 Instructor: Arpita Ghosh Fee: $79 CEUs: 0.7 (7 hours)
