Penn State University will be hosting and celebrating its 61st Mushroom Short Course September 29-October 1, 2019, at the Mendenhall Inn in Kennett Square, PA.   The Short Course has been a premier annual event since 1956, contributing to the growth and profitability of mushroom growers all over North America.

The 2019 Penn State Short Course will feature some significant changes from those you have attended. Our goal is to focus more attention on your needs as a mushroom grower and on the needs of their employees. Two changes will be notable: first, the number of the interactive, breakout sessions will double; we will have them on both Monday and Tuesday afternoons. This will give the planners an opportunity to cover more topics for these well attended sessions. One of the breakout rooms will feature poster presentations on a wide variety of grower-related topics, as well as ongoing Penn State research. At some of the posters you will be able to have one-on-one conversations with the person who created it. Others will be informative as stand-alone posters. The second noticeable change will be that lectures will be limited to graduate student research and on topics of practical aspects of mushroom cultivation.  We are sure that you will want to be a part of this year’s event.
