Following the Plenary Luncheon at the Westin Seattle on Wednesday, March 28, attendees will have the option to take part in a tour to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as well as other area Seattle Favorites. Tour descriptions and additional details will be available in December.

At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Cente, home to three Nobel laureates, interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists seek new and innovative ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Fred Hutch’s pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation led to the development of immunotherapy, which harnesses the power of the immune system to treat cancer. An independent, nonprofit research institute based in Seattle, Fred Hutch houses the nation’s first cancer prevention research program, as well as the clinical coordinating center of the Women’s Health Initiative and the international headquarters of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. To accelerate our progress, we are part of the Fred Hutch / University of Washington Cancer Consortium. This research and clinical collaboration between the Hutch, the University of Washington, Seattle Children’s and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance enables our researchers to leverage each institution’s strengths and develop premier research programs across many types of disease.
