Since the first National Clean Energy Summit in 2008 Nevada has seen a boom in clean energy and is now producing nearly 4-and-a-half times the amount of clean megawatts it was just four years ago. With solar, wind and geothermal projects popping up across the Silver State, Nevada is currently producing 1,150 megawatts of clean energy; enough to power tens of thousands of homes. In addition clean energy projects are fueling Nevada's tax base. Since 2010 Nevada has seen more than $248 million in tax revenue generated from clean energy projects.
While much has been accomplished to realize the clean energy potential of Nevada and the West, much more can and should be done in the coming decades to ensure future clean energy growth. On August 7, National Clean Energy Summit 5.0: The Power of Choice will examine the most effective ways to drive immediate investments in our clean resources and policies that can optimize renewable energy production.
