The National OCT Conference is the UK's leading OCT educational event.
The second conference, which follows on from the huge success of the inaugural National OCT Conference last year which attracted over 250 delegates, will take place on Sunday 20th – Monday 21st November at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
Once again a huge number of CET points are on offer through a range of inspiring lectures, skills workshops, discussion workshops and peer discussions with a possible 19 CET points for optometrists* up for grabs over the weekend. (*Based on a delegate attending all four Keynote lectures and five workshops over the two days). The conference promises to cater for practitioners with any level of OCT knowledge, from beginners through to expert users.
Topcon is delighted to have secured some of the UK’s most highly rated ophthalmology speakers. This year we will see the return of Dr Pearse Keane and Professor Heinrich Heimann who received fantastic delegate feedback for their presentations at last year’s conference.
This year Dr Keane will be focusing on the evaluation of AMD with OCT paying particular reference to the growing use of OCT Angiography; whilst Professor Heimann will expand on the topic of ocular tumours, this year paying particular focus on vascular tumours. Both of these lectures promise to be engaging and highly clinically relevant to practice. Click here to see this year’s full programme.
Join us on Sunday evening
For a 3 course dinner and special guest speakers Mike Newman from Speed Of Sight and ophthalmologist Dr Carl Glittenberg and entertainment with optometrist and stand-up comedian Sarah Morgan. The perfect chance to catch up with colleagues and discuss the day’s events.
Mike Newman will be sharing his story of what it was like growing up with a disability and how he overcame several barriers to achieve his dreams and aspirations which led him to accomplish multiple world records. He’ll also explain the reasons why he set up the charity Speed Of Sight, the impact it has had on people’s lives (disabled or otherwise) and how support from companies like Topcon is integral for the charities growth and continued success.
