This is a four day training designed to prepare new domestic violence advocates and volunteers to work with victims of domestic violence. At this training, you will learn about:
· Dynamics of battering
· Crisis intervention strategies and techniques
· Criminal and civil legal protections and options available to victims
· Information about state and community resources
· Sexual assault/marital rape
· The impact of domestic violence on children
· Confidentiality policies and protections
To attend this training, you must be referred by one of CCADV's member domestic violence agencies. Upon completion, a certificate of completion will be sent to the domestic agency at which you will be working/volunteering. This training is a pre-requisite for all advocates and volunteers who will be directly working with victims of domestic violence.
