This training is designed to prepare new domestic violence advocates and volunteers to work with victims of domestic violence. At this training, you will learn about:
Dynamics of battering
Crisis intervention strategies and techniques
Criminal and civil legal protections and options available to victims
Information about state and community resources
Sexual assault/intimate partner rape
The impact of domestic violence on children
Confidentiality policies and protections
To attend this training, you must be referred by one of CCADV's member domestic violence agencies. Upon completion, a certificate of completion will be sent to the domestic agency at which you will be working/volunteering. This training is a pre-requisite for all advocates and volunteers who will be directly working with victims of domestic violence.
