NIAID SBIR/STTR Small Business Workshop 2019

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is hosting a Small Business Workshop for SBIR/STTR stakeholders in Southern California. Biotechnology entrepreneurs, new faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and all other innovators who are interested in starting new biomedical enterprises are encouraged to attend. The purpose of this workshop is to prepare current and next-generation biomedical entrepreneurs to compete in NIAID's (and other Federal) SBIR/STTR programs, and survey other resources for technology commercialization. Attendees will learn about career opportunities in biomedical entrepreneurship that are supported by the NIH, receive guidance for preparation of successful grant applications, and be updated on current NIH SBIR/STTR policies and regulations. We will also discuss SBIR/STTR opportunities for women-owned and socially and economically disadvantaged small businesses.

The NIAID-led Program will also include the NIH SBIR/STTR Program Office, Center for Scientific Review (CSR) and National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. Additionally, we’ll be joined by other SBIR/STTR Agencies including the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The agenda will include: an overview of the NIH SBIR/STTR programs, introductions to programs administered by NIAID, application review, award management, Venture Capital and other sources of Investment, SBIR/STTR grant/proposal writing, panel discussions, and one-on-one sessions with NIH Staff.

Registration opens at 7AM.
