Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Hands-on: Limited Attendance

This course provides registered Dental Hygienists with basic and current concepts in the administration of nitrous oxide. Upon successful completion of this course (including the written exam), the RDH will have met the State of Ohio Dental Board's didactic, clinical hours and course content requirements to become eligible to administer nitrous oxide. 

Dental Assistants who successfully complete this course (including the written exam) will be able to monitor nitrous oxide as permitted by the Ohio State Dental Board. A comprehensive review on the general guidelines and industry standards will be presented along with a clinical monitoring activity. Dental Assistants must be CPR certified and have at least 2 years and 3,000 hours of experience to perform this function (educational hours do not count towards requirement). 

This course is also appropriate for Dentists looking to incorporate the use of nitrous oxide sedation in their practice, or as a refresher.
