General information

Conference venue

The conference will be held in Bergen, Norway. The opening day with registration, opening keynote and reception will be held at the cultural scene USF Verftet. The second and third day with plenary sessions, paper sessions and conference dinner will be held at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in the centre of Bergen city.

Accommodation

Rooms have been reserved for the conference attendees both at the conference venue and other nearby hotels. All hotels can be reach by the airport buss. For more information, see the page for accommodation.

Travel to the conference

Bergen is easy to get to, from the rest of Norway and from abroad. You can fly to Bergen direct from more than 30 central destinations in Europe. From the biggest transport hubs, such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London, Helsinki, Tokyo, Stockholm, Reykjavik and Oslo, you only need to change planes once to get here from other more distant cities. The Airport bus runs about every 15 minutes and takes approximately 30 minutes. It goes to the city center of Bergen and stops at the conference hotel. The fee is NOK 160 for a roundtrip ticket.

You may also travel to Bergen by train. The Bergen Railway between Oslo and Bergen is an experience in itself. Discover some of the most beautiful landscapes in Norway. The train ride takes 9 hours. For more info see nsb.no

The conference fee includes the conference program, the welcome reception, coffe/te and lunches during the program and conference material. 25% VAT is included in the prices above. The conference fee will be sent by invoice only. Check the value of the Norwegian Krone (NOK) for your currency here.

Registration

The conference is now closed for registration.

Cancelation policy

All cancellations must be sent to konferanser@hil.no no later than April 24. Cancellations until this date will be refunded less a NOK 500 processing fee. Cancellations after this date or no-shows will not be refunded.

Transportation

There is accessible public transportion from the airport to the city of Bergen. For wheel chair users, we recommend making a reservation to flybussen.bergen@tide.no in advance of the conference. Transportion for wheel chair users are also possible by booking one of the taxi companies:  


The conference venue

Both the venue for the opening day, USF Verftet, and the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel is wheelchair accessible and all meeting rooms have induction loop. Sign language interpreters will be provided for attendees with a hearing impairment. We have made reservation of the wheel chair accessible guest rooms that the conference hotel has to offer. The conference is organized by University of Bergen, Uni Research Rokkan Centre and Bergen University College in collaboration with The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir). Technical organizer is Centre for Lifelong Learning at Lillehammer University College.
