On behalf of the local arrangements committee, I would like to invite you to join us for the 114th annual North Carolina Academy of Science (NCAS) meeting at High Point University on March 24-25, 2017. High Point University has never hosted NCAS, but we are excited about this opportunity! The meeting will be held in our new Cottrell Center for Student Success. This meeting will be one of the first formal events showcasing High Point University’s newest academic space.
Last year’s meeting was a great success and illustrated many different aspects of the S.T.E.M disciplines and their relationships with the concept of “being green." Our goal this year is to bring together researchers from diverse fields to examine the interdisciplinary theme: Crossing Boundaries: Transforming STEM Research. We hope that you leave the meeting with a greater appreciation for the creative application of various scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematic approaches to research.
I encourage you to attend the meeting and to submit an abstract. This annual meeting is an important venue to present your research, as well as a good place for students to present their research for the first time. Please contact Joanne Altman, Director of the Office of Undergraduate and Creative Works at High Point University, with any questions: email@example.com. (Please add NCAS to the subject line!) We look forward to seeing you on March 24-25, 2017!
