The November CPD - Making the Standards Meaningful
We will be the final CPD for 2016 and will continue to focus on the Quality Agency’s strategic and corporate priorities for 2016-2017
We will be having a guest speaker, Ms. Ilsa Hampton, CEO of Meaningful Ageing Australia attend each CPD to discuss the recently launched National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care. The recently launched National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care provide a remarkable opportunity for aged care organisations when the “heart of quality” has been described by the aged care community as “trusting, connected relationships, effective communication and an ongoing dialogue” (AACQA, Let’s Talk About Quality, 2015). This seminar will engage participants in a process of developing and deepening understandings of spirituality and best practice spiritual care, the content of the National Guidelines, and their relationship to the Accreditation Standards. Drawing upon current evidence around spirituality, spiritual care and ageing, the session will align with the core values of the National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care; empathy and compassion, acceptance and respect, inclusion and diversity, and dignity.
