This online course focuses on principles of general microbiology andhealth care applicationsfor students pursuing careers in nursing andother allied health fields. Emphasis is onmicrobiological fundamentalsand control of microorganisms pertinent to the health carearena.Considerable attention is devoted to microorganisms and humandisease, specifically principlesof disease and epidemiology,pathogenicity, and immunology. Various diseases are presentedaccordingto the host organ system most affected. Emerging topics in microbiologyareaddressed along with their clinical application to health care.
