The goal of this course is to equip the student with an understanding of the underpinnings of information technology. We will cover the basic principles of computer information systems and will illustrate and apply them in the context of healthcare and healthcare education applications. We will use the personal computer as a learning model and extrapolate to broader technologies and applications for clinical and administrative delivery of healthcare, as well as healthcare education and research.
