The purpose of this education activity is to enhance the  knowledge of the long-term care/assisted living  Registered Nurse in the area of management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) by addressing interdisciplinary teaming strategies for addressing BPSD in an effort to promote appropriate management of BPSD for patients in long-term care as evidenced by the learner’s achievement of all activity objectives and a passing score on the activity post-test.

In this webcast Dr. David Smith, MD, FAAFP, CMD will:

  • Describe interdisciplinary teaming processes for investigating the causes of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.

  • Identify resources and barriers for interdisciplinary teaming processes to address behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.  

This program offers 0.8 contact hour for Nurses, 0.8 CEU for Nursing Home Administrators, Assisted Living Facility Managers, Hospice Administrators and other alternate administrators.
