ONLINE: Insurance Basics for Nonprofits

Your nonprofit faces a certain set of risks. You therefore need to consider different types of insurance to protect your organization and its ability to achieve your mission. This session is designed to cover the most common forms of insurance and how to decide what your organization needs. We will review what is involved in purchasing insurance, tips for understanding the parts of a policy, what to look for in an insurance agent or broker, applying for or renewing your insurance, and specialized types of coverage that you may want to consider. You will have plenty of time to ask questions.

About the Presenter

Becky H.Becky received her Associates in Accounting from Big Bend Community College in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Minor in Business Administration from Washington State University in 2008. She began working in insurance in 2002 with Clear Risk Solutions(CRS) and obtained the following insurance designations: Associates in Commercial Underwriting (AU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) from the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, and Certified Programs Leader (CPL).  In addition, she is a WA State licensed Producer and Surplus Lines Broker. The majority of her time with CRS has been spent in the Underwriting Department working closely with nonprofits and other organizations.  Becky was honored with the Underwriting Achievement of the Year Award for 2014 by her parent company. Her current focus is business development to help secure effective products, services, and meet new coverage needs for clients.
