Providers seeking a credential in the Illinois Early Intervention system must complete both parts of the System Overview Training before submitting their enrollment/credential application.
The System Overview Training is comprised of the following 2 components:
Part 1: "Online System Overview Training" is an open access, independent study, designed for participants to work at their own pace towards completion.
This online course is a comprehensive overview of the Illinois Early Intervention System requiring 8-12 hours to complete. Topics presented in these online modules include:
Online learners must complete all training modules, successfully pass all quizzes, and complete the training evaluation at the end of the course in order to access a Certificate of Completion.
Part 2: "Online System Overview Follow-Up Session" (SOFU) is a required, one-day, face-to-face training with a separate registration!
As its name implies, this is a follow-up to the information presented in the online training component including interactive group activities and discussion, as well as the latest updates to State policies/procedures and issues related to best practices in Illinois Early Intervention. The training is offered several times over the course of the year and requires a separate registration.
*This training is required for all providers seeking a credential in the Illinois Early Intervention System. Service coordinators, interpreters and translators are not required to take this training, but are require to take separate trainings. See our Required Training page for more details.
*Online System Overview and Online System Overview Follow-Up (SOFU) must be completed within 3 years of making application for an Illinois Early Intervention Credential. If completed longer than 3 years prior to making application for the credential, individuals will need to repeat both.
