What Days of Training Should I Attend?
Students should attend three or four days certification training, depending on the certification(s) they wish to obtain. Core training is required for all certifications.- Core Training: Attend Days 1 & 2
- Category 06 & 23: Attend Days 1, 2, & 4
- Category 07: Attend Days 1, 2, & 3
- Categories 06 & 07: Attend all days
What Study Packets Should I Get?
Purchasing the appropriate study material packets is recommended. Because some people may already have access to these materials, they are not required to be purchased when registering for the training. If you purchase the study packets along with the registration of the course, these materials will be given to you at the first class. If you would like the study materials before the class starts, you can purchase them yourself through the Publications Distribution Center (1-877-345-0691). Be sure to order them well in advance so that you receive them for the first day of class. These materials will not be available for purchase at the training.- Core Basic Pesticide Safety - All students must take the core exam. Order PEP-00C ($30.00).
- Category 06: Ornamental & Shade Trees - For those who make pesticide applications to landscape beds or trees. Order PEP-06 ($56.00).
- Category 07: Lawn & Turf - For those who make pesticide applications to turfgrass areas. Order PEP-07 ($82.50).
- Category 23: Parks & Schools Pest Control - For municipal, park, or school employees responsible for a variety of pesticide applications. Order PEP-23 ($69.00).

Certification Exam
The certification exam is not part of the training. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has a day scheduled after the training to administer the exam. Students will receive more information about the exams at the training.
