Professionals and families often find the behaviors of persons with dementia to be challenging. This program will address the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia from the perspectives of medicine, psychology, and social work with an emphasis on cognitive behavior interventions.The target audience for this program includes all professionals working in geriatrics and psychology, with a special emphasis on clinicians and administrators including physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing home administrators and those who specialize in alternative medicine.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the partnership of Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine, the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and the Alzheimer's Association of St. Louis.
