PHIT 2021 is going virtual! 

Join your peers and national experts virtually at the annual Public Health Improvement Training (PHIT) on June 7-9, 2021. PHIT 2021 features a renewed format to meet your training needs, including virtual training sessions, networking opportunities and town halls.

This year's theme for PHIT is: Optimizing Your Resources Through Performance Improvement
. Take part in the PHIT experience to strengthen skills in order to take action in public health performance improvement topics such as:


  • Resource Management (featured Strategic Skill)
  • PHAB Accreditation or Reaccreditation
  • Community Health Assessment or Health Improvement Planning
  • Performance Management
  • Quality Improvement
  • Strategic Planning
  • Other Strategic Skills such as systems thinking, change management, persuasive communication, data analytics, problem solving, diversity and inclusion, and policy engagement

In addition, PHIT will include foundational and leadership tracks designed for those who are new to performance improvement and our seasoned experts.

PHIT attendees have the opportunity to select from a variety of interactive learning and skill-building sessions designed for all experience levels. At PHIT, participants gain practical tools, templates, resources, and contacts to support you to take action. 

Who plans PHIT?

PHIT is planned and convened by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (CSTLTS) and the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). The PHIT Planning Committee includes representatives from these national partner organizations:

  • Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO)
  • National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO)
  • National Indian Health Board (NIHB)
  • Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB)
  • Public Health Foundation (PHF)
  • Public Health Learning Network (PHLN)
