Using the PIAAC Databases for Interdisciplinary Research

The Institute of Education Sciences (IES), in collaboration with the Educational Testing Service (ETS), sponsored a series of training workshops for individual researchers and research teams to explore and use data and assessment tools from the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC).

These workshops were designed for those who want to go beyond computing basic statistics with the PIAAC databases. During the workshops participants were trained to conduct simple and complex analysis with the PIAAC data. The general day-to-day schedule of the workshops included both presentations and hands-on practical assignments using the PIAAC databases.  Accommodation and sustenance costs to participate in these workshops was funded by a grant from IES. For details on the funding available for these workshops, please refer to the "Workshop Fees and Funding" page.

Participants in these workshops are encouraged to submit a research paper to an IES/ETS sponsored conference that will take place in Washington, D.C. on December 2018. Partial funding to participate in this conference is available to qualifying participants.
