Important Update: Hurricane Joaquin to Impact the East Coast
As of now, the joint Environment/PDU Advisory/Sector council meeting in Baltimore next week will proceed as scheduled. While Hurricane Joaquin continues to build into a major storm in the Atlantic, the impacts near Baltimore appear to be mostly rain. The exact path of the storm remains unclear, and there may be flight cancellations or delays in coming days. We encourage you to remain safe and cautious as you embark on travel.
The EPRI team is working with utility weather resources to track and monitor the storm’s progress. We will keep a close eye on developments and notify you if anything changes. Nonetheless our plan is to continue the meeting with those able to attend.
Of course, we understand priorities that East Coast utilities will have in dealing with this storm and that this may impact ability of these utilities to participate in the meetings in some research areas. We will work with these utilities to make sure that we get their input and coordinate with their advisors after the meeting, if necessary.
The end of next week looks to be fantastic weather and should be a great close out to our fall session. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you, Anda, Mark and Rob
