On Friday 9 June, the PRA and FCA New Bank Start-up Unit (NBSU) will be holding a seminar for those working in, or with, organisations thinking about becoming a bank in the United Kingdom, firms currently going through the bank authorisation process or recently authorised banks who are now navigating the regulatory requirements.
The seminar will be introduced by Martin Stewart (Director of Banks, Building Societies and Credit Unions, PRA) and hosted by Nick Lee (Head of New Banks, PRA).

The seminar will focus on how to become a bank in the United Kingdom and what happens after authorisation. It will draw on material used in previous seminars, so will be of most interest to those who have recently started to consider becoming a bank and/or who have not attended a PRA and FCA New banks seminar before. The content contained in the seminar has been designed in the context of the current UK and EU regulatory framework.
Submit suggestions for topics and questionsAs interactive and practical sessions, we are keen to gather any suggestions for topics or questions in advance so that we’re able to inform the agenda. Please submit your suggestions when you register.
Please register your interest to attend by Friday 7 April 2017. We will review responses and confirm attendance via email w/c 24 April 2017. Registration will commence at 9.00am for a prompt 9.30am start. The seminar will be followed by a buffet lunch for attendees, presenters and PRA and FCA supervisors.
