We are pleased to announce the third ProteoMMX meeting that has the theme, once again, of quantitative proteomics. The historic and convivial City of Chester in the North West of England will host two complementary quantitative proteomics events in March 2014. This meeting is organised by the Universities of Liverpool, Manchester and Cambridge, and the enabling sponsor is Waters. The meeting is held in association with the British Society for Proteome Research, who will provide travel bursaries for members, are offering two exciting prizes for best poster and best early career researcher lecture and who are generously sponsoring the Plenary Lecture from Dr Peipei Ping.
The third iteration of the Biochemical Society’s acclaimed Quantitative Proteomics training course and the third “ProteoMMX - Strictly Quantitative” conference will run ‘back-to-back’ in the same venue. The ProteoMMX meeting is held in association with The British Society for Proteome Research
Meeting at a glance:
Early Career Researcher?
Many meetings do not create opportunities for platform presentations based on 'elevated abstracts'. We are enthusiastic about postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and research fellows being given an opportunity to give oral presentations, and some slots will be kept available for short presentations. With the emphasis on open and friendly discussion, this meeting is ideal for postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellow and established scientists and could give them a chance to deliver their first platform presentation. The Queen Hotel is a charming period hotel that is well suited to a small, friendly meeting. Directly across from the railway station, it is very easy to get to!
New to Quantitative Proteomics?
The ProteoMMX meeting will run from midday on Tuesday March 25th to midday on Thursday March 27th. It is preceded by the very popular introductory course on Quantitative Proteomics (Biochemical Society Training Course) that is a re-run of the course presented twice previously - this was very oversubscribed! *
Newcomers to the area might wish to explore the course web site The course is a terrific introduction to the subsequent conference, and is an excellent primer in the language, approaches and issues associated with quantitative proteomics. Although these two meetings are complementary and held at the same venue, they are being run independently. Registration for the ProteoMMX 3.0 meeting is done through this site.
To register for the Biochemical Society Training Course, please visit their website via the link provided above.
* Please note that although these ProteoMMX 3 and Quant 3 are run in close association and at the same venue, they are completely independent. There is no dual sign-up and attendance must be booked separately. Attendance at one does not require attendance at the other.
