This 1-day Riggers and Signalperson course assists employers in meeting the current federal crane rule 29CFR1926.1400 and selected state regulations for Qualified Person training, testing, and evaluation. This is not a national certification program.
Workshop Includes: Classroom training, section quizzes, final written exams, and hands-on practical workshop rigging scenarios.
The Rigging portion of this course covers risk management, general crane safety & hazards of operating cranes, rigging plans, the use and inspection criteria for master links, shackles, eye bolts, lifting eyes, slings, sling angles, hitches, spreader bars and equalizer beams, calculating load weight & and center of gravity.
Additionally, the Signaling/Spotting portion of this course covers Qualified Signal Person requirements, power line safety, positioning, craning hazards, signal person requirements, and hand and verbal crane signaling, meanings, actions and potential hazards they may cause.
Students successfully completing the program will receive copies of all testing and evaluation documentation and a Rigging, Signaling and Spotting Qualification training ID card (sent to you within 10 business days of the class).
