The Department of Labor announced new overtime regulations that will go into effect on December 1, 2016. These new regulations affect many nonprofits and small businesses. Most employees earning less then $47,500 per year will be entitled to overtime compensation.
This presentation will highlight the upcoming changes to the final overtime rules and salary requirements for employees who are categorized as “exempt” under the executive, professional, or administrative exemptions, and answer the following questions:

Katie Bosbyshell, Littler Mendelson
Katie Bosbyshell represents and advises employers in all aspects of employment-related issues including wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, harassment and discrimination, accommodations, onboarding and terminations. She provides clients with tools to avoid disputes, such as employee handbooks, policies, agreements and training. Katie also does extensive work in the areas of non-competition law and trade secrets law.
She also has extensive experience litigating labor and employment-related lawsuits. She has successfully practiced in front of federal and state courts as well as federal and state agencies. Katie has achieved successful results through arbitration and private mediation.
As an attorney, Katie’s primary goal is to help clients prevent and resolve disputes so they can get back to business.
