Digital Intraoral and Panoramic Imaging

This course satisfies the Ohio State Dental Board (OSDB) 2-hour radiography renewal CE requirement for dental assistants.

Digital radiography offers the advantages of instant access, easy transmission, and manipulation of images to optimize brightness and contrast. This course offers an overview of the different types of digital imaging, including the CCD, CMOS, and PSP systems as well as panoramic imaging. Handheld x-ray devices will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the basic principles of intraoral and panoramic imaging
  • Learn about utilizing digital imaging receptors and image enhancement techniques and tips for troubleshooting errors on digital intraoral and panoramic images
  • Comprehend the proper handling and safe usage of handheld intraoral x-ray units.
