Self-Study CE Course:
HPV-related Oropharyngeal Carcinoma 

The purpose of this self-study CE course is to review the acquisition, prevalence, diagnosis and treatment of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) -related oropharyngeal carcinomas, as well as disease subtypes and warning signs/symptoms. This course will also address prevention methods and the relationship between HPV and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC).

 Learning Objectives:

  • Learn key points about HPV-related Oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC).
  • Describe OPSCC prevalence and routes of acquisition.
  • List and describe subtypes of HPV-related OPSCC.
  • Identify the warning signs and methods of diagnosis, as well as disease treatment.

This self-paced course was offered through the OSU Sterilization & Monitoring Service (SMS) in the winter of 2017.  If you already took this course, please note that the Ohio State Dental Board does not permit dentists and hygienists to take the same exact course more than once during a biennium for CE credit.
