Help us kick off another exciting year of ASHRAE events with our ASHRAE NAC Past President's Night.  In addition to honouring the service of our past presidents, we are also very excited to welcome guest speaker Tim McGinn, PEng, LEED®AP – Principal, DIALOG. Tim will provide an overview of the new $375MM Royal Alberta Museum, located within Edmonton's booming downtown Arts District.

Royal Alberta Museum

Having outgrown its previous Glenora location, the new RAM facility will be the largest museum in Western Canada.

The project was delivered using a Design-Build process, with a collaborative approach involving all key stakeholders from concept to completion. With the goal of achieving LEED Gold certification, the facility will meet LEED Silver at minimum.

Anticipated to open in late 2017, the new museum will feature new galleries in both the natural and human history wings, showcasing Alberta's incredible archaeological and cultural stories, a feature gallery for rotating exhibitions, an expansive "Bug Room", an interactive children's gallery focused on learning through play, and much more. Further, RAM will meet international museum interior climate standards, enabling the facility to host outstanding feature exhibitions.

***We will also be hosting an informative RAM Site Tour prior to the dinner meeting.

Registration has been limited to two (2) groups of 15 participants each.

Tour #1 will begin at 3 PM, and Tour #2 will begin at 3:30 PM

Help us kick off another exciting year of ASHRAE events with our ASHRAE NAC Past Presidents Night. In addition to honoring the service of our past presidents, we are also very excited to welcome guest speaker Josiah Strauss, PHd. Josiah is a product manager for water treatment and adiabatic humidification at Neptronic. He has a background in environmental science, earning a PhD in Geology from Texas A&M University. His academic and industry experience includes work in oil and gas, atmospheric hydrology and groundwater geochemistry.

Dr. Strauss will be providing a talk on Water Quality Considerations for Humidification

Water quality is an important factor to consider in a humidification project, whether it’s an isothermal or adiabatic application. He will briefly present how water quality impacts scale formation, foaming, and corrosion in a humidifier. He will then discuss water treatment strategies for applications with poor water quality.
