This four day seminar is designed to provide an opportunity for newly assigned and reassigned engineers and managers to become familiar with the function, operation, and maintenance of service water systems (SWSs). The first three days of the seminar highlight, through case histories and experiences, the issues facing a service water systems engineer and identifies resources that are available to assist in developing an effective service water systems operation and maintenance program. The final day is focused on the programmatic aspects of administering and effectively managing service water piping degradation, as described in the Service Water Piping Guideline (SWP). The guideline, and therefore this training, provides background information required for plants to develop their Service Water Piping program. It is not a prescriptive document for inspections, mitigation, responses to pinhole leaks, ultimate heat sink inventory, or handling of repairs for every plant.
This seminar will be of interest to individuals involved with the operation, maintenance, and treatment of service water and related systems. It will be of particular benefit to individuals working in the areas of:
