Session #5 - Pooled, Travel and Voluntary Benefits - January 16, 2018

Summary

Pooled, travel and voluntary benefits will be addressed in the first of two sessions that explore coverage under group life and health benefit lines. The sessions will also explore coverage trends, influencers and affordability issues.

In session five on January 16, 2018, Mr. Ebrahimi will explore benefits that are typically pooled, including life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D). He will also introduce trends in less traditional mandatory and voluntary benefits such as critical illness.

Ms. Winkworth will review traditional emergency travel programs and provide insights into more sophisticated arrangements, including carve out AD&D. She will address the differing requirements for vacation and business travel, student coverage, carve out plans and voluntary programs.

Mr. Carere will provide details on the type of individual health and dental products available that can be used as stand alone or top-up products. This coverage can be easily overlooked, but highly valued, when individuals are exiting an organization or when coverage is limited under the group plan.

At the end of this session attendees will have insight into traditional, non-traditional and voluntary benefits.
