In addition to course time, we also have time set aside for social activities such as Mountain Challenge. AP participants will have an opportunity to sign up for this fun, get-to-know-you event scheduled the first night of the conference. Mountain Challenge will provide a high quality outdoor experience, designed especially for AP teachers. Taking into account the diversity found within a group of individuals, the mountain challenge experience uses personalized outdoor learning techniques to make an impact. Your experience will help you get acquainted with the other participants and give you ideas to take back to your classroom.
Continuing Education Units
The Tennessee Department of Education recognizes continuing education units (CEU’s) earned at the Advanced Placement Summer Institute for teacher licensing renewal. Teachers with 100% attendance records at the AP Summer Institute may receive 3.0 CEU’s for participation in this week long workshop. Attendance at all class sessions is required for teachers to be awarded CEU credit. Participants from other states should check with their local systems about license renewal credit. Participants who attend 90% or more of the AP Summer Institute will receive a certificate of participation.
