“BARCELONA-VALENCIA-MADRID: Architectural and Urban Landscape” is a FAMU Continuing Education course organized by the School of Architecture. The course concentrates on the architectural and urban landscape that Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid have anchored since prehistory. These cities are a world renowned architectural and urban showcase that has inspired countless architects, city planners, artists, as well as ordinary folks.
Topics analyzed by the course will include: historic, modern, and contemporary architecture; urban historical development and design; city planning strategies; historic preservation issues; urban management and interpretative concerns, among others, which weave a unique cultural landscape. A required trip to Barcelona, Valencia and Madrid during the Spring Break will provide an opportunity to enjoy all aspects of life in these unique and wonderful cities.
