SPC PL Event: "Managing School Leadership - An Induction" - A NESA Endorsed Course at Lead Level

Completing "Managing School Leadership - An Induction" will contribute 9 hours and 30 minutes of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing from the Australian
Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
Newly appointed and aspiring secondary principals will have the opportunity to reflect on learning and leadership in the context of their school. This course has been designed by principals experienced in isolated, rural and regional settings.
They will develop a critical understanding of the importance of instructional leadership. The course will give participants an extensive toolkit, both theoretical and practical, for planning an instructional leadership (Teaching Standards - Lead 3.3.4; 6.3.4) approach whilst allowing them to customise their own leadership style. Course participants will build their professional capacity as a leader through a range of workshops that will include self reflection; strategies to maximise leadership impact (3.3.4); explore teacher and student learning within their school context (3.3.4); use time, teams, tools and tasks to build school capacity; and develop ways to build productive networks and linkages with the community, the Director, Educational Leadership and the NSW Department of Education.
This will all be done with a focus on the isolated, rural and regional context.
