Peter Morgan
In over 40 years working in education, Peter has been a school leader for over 25 years, including as principal in 4 very different schools ( Wilcannia CS, Monaro HS – Cooma, Belmont HS, Brewarrina CS ).. He has worked as a curriculum consultant and NSW state co-ordinator of the innovative National Schools Project. He has led in remote, rural, regional, metropolitan and international schools and taught from kindergarten to university. These roles have taken him to all regions of NSW, all states and territories of Australia, to Brunei and the UK. He and his family have lived in arid, rainforest and alpine regions, two predominately Aboriginal communities and a Muslim society.
These experiences have provided and depth and breadth of experience and many powerful learning opportunities that he applies to his current work.
In 2017-18 Peter has worked as a school coach and trainer with Big Picture Education, Schools Plus and independently in the ACT. He recently presented a keynote address and workshops at the ACT 2017 Engaging Schools Summit along with other national and international educational leaders.
The NSW Secondary Principals’ Council made Peter a life member in acknowledgement his work in school leadership for learning, and Aboriginal education. He is currently developing leadership programs for new principals in rural and remote schools.
Peter’s work is focused on schools being more successful with more students. A key to this is to first understand each schools context and focus. Then, through the effective use of evidence within school (not just data), high quality teacher PL, enhanced leadership capacity, networking and coaching, he aims to build schools’ capacity to make the changes essential to improving students’ learning and wellbeing.

Geoff Hastings
Geoff Hastings was a teacher, head teacher, deputy principal and principal in the New South Wales public education system for thirty seven years before retiring to take up his current position as Director of Professional Learning for the NSWSPC in 2017.
He was the principal of Bathurst High Campus of Denison College from 2006 – 2017. Within his principalship he was one of two foundation principals of Denison College, was appointed as a Principal School Leadership (PSL) and as a relieving School Education Director. As a PSL, Geoff Hastings was a mentor to four beginning principals.
Geoff Hastings has also lectured in the Masters of International Educational Leadership with Charles Sturt University, a credential that was delivered to beginning and aspiring principals from a number of countries including Australia.
He was an elected member of the executive of the SPC from 2011 to 2016. As the Director of Professional Learning for the NSWSPC, Geoff Hastings’ role is to lead the strategic development of the NSWSPC professional learning portfolio and to make available quality professional learning for New South Wales public school principals.
