In this 5-day Specialist Interview Course, presented by Dr. Joe Sullivan, PhD. of Mentor Forensics, participants will learn to use behaviour analysis insights into perpetrators of sexual crimes against children to inform the creation and implementation of effective interview strategies. By understanding how and why sexual abuse takes place, those working at the front line of child protection are better placed to intervene and safeguard the most vulnerable in society. Providing child protection through a greater understanding of how sex offenders operate is the ethos behind the Mentor Interview Technique. This comprehensive specialist interview system has been specifically designed to enhance the skills and knowledge base of those professionals who interview child sex offenders in the course of law enforcement investigations, child protection evaluations and risk assessment and/or management of offenders. For the first time, professionals working in these challenging environments can undertake a program of study that will not only provide a framework for ongoing professional development but introduces participants to a tried and tested methodology for developing, preparing and implementing effective interview strategies with perpetrators of child sexual abuse both in the online and offline environments.Successfully engaging a sex offender or possible perpetrator during interview can make all the difference to the outcome of an investigation and to effective risk management.
