Pepperdine's 25th Annual International Day of Community Service! Step Forward Day is celebrating 25 years of uniting the Pepperdine community for an international day of community service! SFD is a simple yet profound way for Waves to make a difference and live out the mission of Pepperdine. Join hundreds of alumni and students across the globe by serving on September 7, 2013. The Japan Nami Waves will join forces with the Saturday Harvest Kitchen preparing and serving meals for those in need. There are three options for serving the community including food preparation, food distribution, and kitchen cleanup. Do your part to fight hunger in Japan and serve alongside your fellow alumni and friends during one, two or all three shifts! Skills are not required, just a heart to serve. Minimum age for participants is 12 years old. There are only 5 spots available in each shift. There is no charge to participate, but registration is required. The three shifts available include: 10:00 - 12:00: Food preparation (Akihabara kitchen) 12:30 - 14:00: Serve lunch at Ueno Park 14:30 - 16:00: Clean-up (Akihabara kitchen) Even if you are unable to volunteer your time, you can still make an impact! Show your support for Second Harvest Japan by donating non-perishable items. For more information on when and where you can drop off items, click here.
