Pepperdine's 25th Annual International Day of Community Service! Step Forward Day is celebrating 25 years of uniting the Pepperdine community for an international day of community service! SFD is a simple yet profound way for Waves to make a difference and live out the mission of Pepperdine. Join hundreds of alumni and students across the globe by serving on September 7, 2013. Join the Ventura County Waves to help sort, box, and bag food for those in need. Manna Conejo Valley Food Bank helps alleviate hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to the hungry. Serving Ventura and Northern Los Angeles counties, the organization is committed to volunteerism, building community relationships, and improving the quality of life for Conejo residents in need. Volunteers are also encouraged to bring non-perishable items to donate. Unable to make it September 7th? Drop off non-perishable food items to the Conejo Valley Food Bank anytime during the week of September 2, leading up to Step Forward Day. Volunteers on Saturday will then sort your donations! Please note: Children should be at least 12 years of age to participate and those between the ages 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult parent, guardian, or chaperone. Volunteers must wear appropriate and comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Sandals, spaghetti straps, and tank tops are not allowed.
