In these live, community-focused CME/CE/CPE forums, leading experts in pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) as a strategy for HIV prevention present the most recent science on PrEP to primary healthcare professionals consumers, and AIDs service organizations and discuss best strategies for the implementation of a PrEP program. Large-group discussions and small, audience-specific breakout sessions led by expert faculty and local advocacy groups will facilitate practical discussions on local barriers to PrEP as well as regional networks that can support the implementation of a successful PrEP program.

Target Audience: This activity is intended for primary care physicians, OB/GYNs, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and nurses, as well as consumers and AIDS service organization staff.
Upon completion, participants should be able to:
• Apply guideline recommendations for the implementation of PrEP in practice for patients at substantial risk of HIV (clinicians)
• Explain evidence from clinical trials and demonstration projects related to the effects of daily oral PrEP on individuals’ HIV risk (non-clinicians)
• Describe available evidence for the safety of daily oral PrEP to reduce HIV risk (clinicians and non-clinicians)
• Incorporate strategies that more fully integrate sexual health issues into primary care practice (clinicians and non-clinicians)

Physicians: Med-IQ is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Med-IQ designates this live activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nurses: Med-IQ is accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing to provide continuing education to nurses. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 14745, for 2.0 contact hours.
Pharmacists: Med-IQ is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. 2.0 contact hours (0.2 CEUs) of credit for pharmacists. ACPE # 476-0000-16-005-L01-P. This knowledge -based activity is designed for all pharmacists.
Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 2.0 hours of Category I credit for completing this program
Others: Nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals who successfully complete the activity will receive a Statement of Participation indicating the maximum credits available.
To receive credit, complete the pre-survey, read the introductory CME/CE/CPE material, attend the entire meeting, and complete the post-survey, evaluation, and attestation. Pharmacists must also complete the post-test, answering at least 70% of the questions correctly.
Participants must complete the evaluation and attestation within 60 days of participation.
