OMSSA and MCSS are partnering to host a one-day event to further efforts on strengthening poverty reduction at the local level.Community-led poverty reduction is gaining traction in Ontario. More than 30 Ontario communities have local poverty reduction strategies or networks in place, and interest is growing across the province.Aiming to build on this momentum and support our members in advancing poverty reduction at the local level, OMSSA is partnering with the Ministry of Community and Social Services to host a Strengthening Local Poverty Reduction Forum on Wednesday, October 19 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Toronto, creating opportunities to:• Learn from the experiences of those who've lead the way so far• Share best practices and lessons learned• Understand what's worked at the local level, and why• Examine obstacles and how they can be overcome• Explore opportunities to collaborate and scale up local poverty reduction efforts across OntarioThis is an exciting opportunity to come together and explore the power of communities to help Ontario's most vulnerable residents realize their full potential.
