Succession Planning 2.0

 An integral part of business continuity and long-term strategy is a well thought-out and successfully executed succession plan.  The combination of difficult and emotional conversations with family, key leaders, outside professionals, and various other advisors means there are no shortcuts.  Nevertheless- advice, insights, and humble thoughts from successful leaders can be helpful in disarming this daunting task. 

In collaboration with US Trust, the Center for Private Business has brought together a panel of owners, who will share their experiences in navigating the succession planning efforts for their family’s business.   A number of critical topics will be covered including: 

  • Why succession planning is important and how to get started

  • Strategies that owners should consider early on, as well as things to avoid

  • Building the right team of professional advisors and creating accountability for outcomes

  • The Hurdles – family, business, financial, etc.

  • “People factor” (dealing with other internal leaders)

  • Duration.….should it ever end?

The event will include lunch and is open to Center for Private Business Members only.
