S&P Global Market Intelligence will lead a discussion on recent increases in the underwriting of Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) initial public offerings, and the potential resources for such firms to conduct several billions of dollars of acquisitions in the upcoming months. Underwriting of SPACs in the U.S. has advanced this year as ten offerings have been completed through June 8, raising a total of $3.62 billion, or an average of $362 million per issue (Data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence as of October 31, 2017). We will also delve deeper into SPACs recent involvement in some high-profile acquisitions.
