Webinar Summary:Developed and offered by DCG since 2013, Surviving Verbal Conflict (SVC) is a verbal conflict de-escalation training program designed for public safety personnel to give them the basic skills necessary to avoid or defuse potentially volatile encounters with members of the public. Based on Aristotle’s principles of rhetorical appeal, empirical research on police-citizen encounters, and informed by decades of police experience in the field, SVC has already been taught nationwide to more than 15,000 law enforcement officers from more than 200 law enforcement agencies across dozens of states.
This webinar is designed to provide public safety professionals with an overview of the existing SVC curriculum including a pdf student workbook and lecture slides.
