Sustaining Public Health in Pennsylvania through Best Practices and Community-based Initiatives

The Pennsylvania Public Health Association (PPHA), the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health (PORH),  the Penn State College of Medicine's Public Health Program, and the Pennsylvania Chapter for Society for Public Health Education (PA SOPHE) announces a one-day conference,Sustaining Public Health in Pennsylvania through Best Practices and Community-based Initiatives.

Issues that impact health status included, but not limited to, community-based health care services; domestic and intimate partner violence; substance abuse; behavioral health; maternal and child health; barriers to access to care; and oral health;

  • Innovative strategies to address public and community health issues;
  • Current and emerging public health challenges;
  • Integration of public health into community-and state-based initiatives;
  • Best practices in improving the health of special and underserved populations;
  • Migrant and immigrant farmworker health and safety; and
  • Use of data-driven and evidence-based practices in public and community health.

This conference is funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
