Conference Hotel

The conference will be held at the Hilton Hotel on the Santa Fe Plaza.

The room block is now available for reservations. The discounted rate is the current government per diem rate of $83 plus tax per night.

You will need to make your own hotel reservations. Even if your lodging is going to be covered by a conference travel grant, you must still book the room yourself and provide your credit card in case you have incidental expenses not eligible to be covered by LANL (room service, movies, bar, etc.).

Local Transportation

The major airport for travelers coming to Santa Fe isAlbuquerque International Airport (ABQ), located in Albuquerque, NewMexico. Albuqeurque is about 60 miles south of Santa Fe. The airport hascar rental facilities and a shuttle terminal.

Santa Fe also has a small municipal airport (SAF). Some commercial carriers may use this airport. For information look here.

Therailrunner runs from Albuquerque to Santa Fe for $7 each way. Thereare free buses to take you from the Albuquerque airport to the trainstation and then from the Santa Fe train station to local hotels.

Routes and Schedules
Themost commonly used routes are Route 2 - Cerrillos Road and Route M -Museum Hill. The Cerrillos Roadroute goes between many budgethotels and the Santa Fe Plaza Area. The Museum Hill route taekspassengers from the Plaza area to local museums.

Park and Ride bus from Los Alamos:

TheBlue Route of the Park and Ride bus is an excellent way to get from theLab to the conference and back each day. It costs $3 each way and willbe virtually empty as you will be riding opposite of commuter traffic.It will pick you up from either the Los Alamos Library or the TA-3parking front gate parking lot and drop you off at Sheritan and Palace(a few easy blocks from the conference location).

Pick up times from LANL's TA-3 (The Public Library is 10 minutes earlier):

TheMuseum’s collection of over 2990 works comprises 1149 O’Keeffepaintings, drawings, and sculpture, including promised gifts andextended loans. The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is the largest singlerepository of O'Keeffe's work in the world. Throughout the year,visitors can see a changing selection of at least 50 of these works. Inaddition, the Museum presents special exhibitions that are eitherdevoted entirely to O’Keeffe’s work or combine examples of her art withworks by her American modernist contemporaries. Over 140 artists havebeen exhibited at the Museum including Frank Stella, Jackson Pollack,Andy Warhol and Arthur Dove.

TheSpanish Colonial Arts Society collections were initiated in 1928. Todaywith 3,000 objects, the collections are the most comprehensivecompilation of Spanish Colonial art of their kind. Dating from theMiddle Ages to the New Millennium, the collections span centuries inart, place and time. Among the various media featured are santos(painted and sculpted images of saints,) textiles, tinwork, silverwork,goldwork, ironwork, straw appliqué, ceramics, furniture, books and more.
