CHART Napa, California T3 - The Learning Forum for Hospitality Trainers
FAQs
When should I arrive and depart? CHART's Winter Conference officially starts at 6:00 pm Saturday night at the opening reception, but we offer some pre-conference events for those that can arrive early to maximize their learning and networking, and we STRONGLY recommend that First Time Attendees arrive at least by 5 pm on Saturday for the First Time Attendee Meeting. If you arrive earlier, take advantage of the great opportunities to start building relationships and professional development on Saturday by participating in the Service Event, Pre-Conference Workshops or several optional Saturday activities and the opening reception and dinner groups Saturday night. Details are on the Agenda and Special Features Page. See Below for WHERE to go when you arrive!
What do I wear? Attire during the winter conference sessions is business casual. A sweater or jacket is suggested as some meeting rooms may be cooler due to the air-conditioning. Bring sneakers if you plan to walk or hike on your own. Event attire is also casual, and may include themes. See the Special Features Page for details on attire.
What should I bring? Bring business cards! You will need them to exchange with all the attendees you meet, and to win great prizes in the Resource Gallery.
What is the First Time Attendee Meeting? CHART is a unique, personal, intense association of members, and we want to make sure that Trainers who attend a conference for the first time understand how the sessions will go, how to get the most out of the conference, and give them an opportunity to meet people early and feel comfortable networking right from the start. The First Time Attendee Meeting is for anyone attending a CHART conference for the first time, and for the Mentors who will help guide them through it contributing freely and getting the most out of their time as they can.
What is the Hospitality Suite? The Hospitality Suite is held in a sleeping room suite where we have set up games, photo albums, snacks and beverages and all attendees are open. Opening Saturday, Sunday and Monday night around 9 or 10pm and staying open until midnight or so, this is a general area for anyone who wants to come up and chat and continue networking after hours are welcome and strongly encouraged to stop in. Do not let the fact that you may not know anyone keep you from taking advantage of this great networking opportunity. No CHART experience is complete without it! What is the Business Meeting and Leadership Breakfast or Lunch? Everyone is welcome to join us for a brief overview of the association and celebration of our volunteers at this festive lunch or breakfast at each conference. How do I Volunteer? Volunteering at the conference is another great way to network. When you register, click on the kinds of activities you would like to volunteer for and the volunteer director will contact you.
Where to Go When You Arrive at the Hotel? As everyone arrives at different times, we want you to know where to go and where to find us when you get there, before you get your registration materials.
