A View From the Top: Seattle Space Needle Optional Sunday Night Event
Join most of the conference attendees for this optional event. You will definitely be glad you did! The optional Sunday evening event has drawn over 90% of attendees every time it has been offered. Make the most of your time at CHART. Come bond with other attendees over a drink, spectacular views, and maybe some shooting stars!
Details: Sunday night from 6:30-8:30 pm at Seattle’s most famous landmark, the Space Needle. It’s hard to take Seattle for granted when you see it from 520 feet on the Observation Deck. Trace the outlines of the Cascades against the misty horizon. Instagram Mt. Rainier. Track ferries and boats as they cruise through Elliott Bay. Listen to the distant hum of people, cars, trains, buses, and bikers bustling around Downtown Seattle. To top it all off (pun intended), you can download the Space Needle 360° App, a virtual reality (VR) mobile app with three amazing experiences! Also available for download is the Space Needle app which allows you to picture yourself with a life-size Needle and be floored by a “see through” view over Seattle. To learn more, visit www.spaceneedle.com $50 includes your ticket to the top (a $26 value), food, a drink ticket and roundtrip transportation. A cash bar will also be available. Unlike the black-tie views, attire for the evening is casual. A huge thank you to DiscoverLink, Viatech and ServSafe Alcohol for sponsoring this event to keep the cost to a very low $50. See the Flyer for further details.
PERSONAL BRANDING PHOTOS For only $75 a photographer from Legacy will spend 20 minutes with you and get you one of the best new headshots you could hope for, and turn over a flash drive with up to 5 - 10 great shots for you to choose from. You can schedule your appointment online so it is most convenient for you on-site. See full Flyer for details, or Schedule Now.
COMMON TABLE - SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER GROUPS Saturday night dinner is on your own to explore some of Seattle's eclectic restaurants. If you do not have a group of people you plan to go with, sign up to go to one of these great restaurants with a group of other attendees. Sign ups will be Saturday at registration or at the opening reception. Join a group of 6 to 10 for dinner around 7 pm. Dinner costs are on your own.
MONDAY NIGHT DINNER Enjoy this last evening of bonding and reinforcing the relationships that can become your most valuable resource as a trainer over the years. Don't miss this great night to truly unwind and continue to network and bond, before the last night in the hospitality suite.
HOSPITALITY SUITE Every conference on Tuesday morning we hear people say, disappointedly, that they did not go to the hospitality suite because they did not know that they should, or that it was open to everyone, or that it was worth it to stay up that late. And then we feel bad that we did not explain it well enough. So we are telling you now –go to the Hospitality Suite! Legendary for its unparalleled networking, relationship building and Jenga, your CHART experience will not be complete unless you spend at least some time here. The Hospitality Suite is in a large sleeping room suite, where attendees get together at the end of each night to hang out, play games, catch up and get to know each other in a very relaxed and casual setting. It is where you truly get to know people and build lasting relationships that you can draw upon thoughout the year as training questions and issues arise. Don’t avoid coming just because you don’t know anyone. It is way better than going back to your room and watching bad television re-runs.
SERVICE EVENT Arrive early to participate in the service event on Saturday. A great way to start your networking while giving back to the community. Enjoy a morning or afternoon of volunteering and team-building to support a local non-profit. Activities usually include light assembly work, cleaning, painting, sorting or organizing. Close toed shoes usually preferred. Lunch will be provided.
This year, in honor of our first service event held ij Seattle 14 years ago, we will be having a Service Palooza, where you can choose one of three different events based on what you want to do. See the Flyer for details.
CONFERENCE REPORT Download the Conference Report Template and keep notes on it throughout the conference to help keep track of your own key takeaways, or to turn in to your supervisor to show the return on investment for your time at CHART.
FOLLOW US ON TWITTER In Seattle we’ll again be “tweeting” out takeaways, ideas and links for you during the keynotes and breakouts. It is great to follow twitter while onsite, to read posts on everyone else’s insights and discoveries, but start following #CHARTSeattle now so you can "meet" attendees before the conference starts, and see some new familiar faces the minute you walk through the door.
All posts should add the hash-tag #CHARTSeattle. We’ve actually already begun to tweet - so follow @CHARTtrainers and search #CHARTSeattle now. Don’t have a Twitter account? No worries; it’s quick.
