Explore the best practices for using primary sources in your classroom with staff from the State Historical Museum of Iowa. Participants will receive exclusive access to the museum's primary sources - both archives and collection objects - and learn how to incorporate Iowa specific primary sources into the classroom. Participants will walk away with resources and lesson plans to implement into their classrooms.

Project Description:

Using State Historical Society of Iowa's Primary Source Sets, participants will use either the compelling question or one supporting question from any Primary Source Set and select at least three primary sources that relate to the compelling or supporting question. The primary sources can be from the Primary Source Sets, the Library of Congress, National Archives or a major university archive.  Participants will create a single-day or multi-day lesson plan utilizing the compelling or supporting question and all of the selected primary sources.
